BLAZE is a feminist research collective committed to dismantling the systems of power that perpetuate colonialism, patriarchy, and racial capitalism. In a world where borders—both physical and epistemic—are used to uphold empire and state violence, we seek to disrupt these frameworks and ignite pathways toward liberation. Our work is grounded in Indigenous sovereignty, abolitionist thought, and decolonial praxis, with the aim of reimagining new worlds beyond oppression.
We believe in the power of insurgent knowledge production—challenging dominant ways of knowing and being, while amplifying the radical knowledge that exists within marginalized communities. BLAZE is not limited to a single field or discipline but works across boundaries, fostering solidarity between Indigenous studies, anti-colonial feminist thought, migration studies, and abolitionist frameworks. We aim to ignite movements that confront state violence, migration, and systems of exploitation.
While education is one crucial site of struggle, we understand that it is but one aspect of a larger, interwoven effort to confront global colonial extractivism, racial capitalism, and the borders that separate us. BLAZE is about creating revolutionary spaces for resistance and collective action that go beyond institutionalized education. We believe in the creation of liberatory, borderless knowledge that empowers communities and fosters justice beyond the state.
We seek to light a fire that will spread across movements, institutions, and geographies, forging new pathways for abolition, sovereignty, and solidarity. This fire is the beginning of a transformation—one that will break down the walls of empire, heal historical wounds, and create the conditions for collective liberation.
